Shirley Grove

RM, BA, BHSc, BTh

BlueHeron-print-0531Shirley graduated from the Midwifery Education Program at McMaster University in 2010 and worked as a Registered Midwife in neighbouring Perth County until joining Blue Heron Midwives in late 2011.  As a long term resident of Kitchener, Shirley is happy to be part of Blue Heron Midwives and practising in Waterloo region.

Shirley has previous degrees in Social Work and Theology, and explored several careers prior to becoming a midwife, the most recent of which was as a high school Family Studies teacher. These previous experiences have helped to shape Shirley’s view that childbirth is a time of great transformation for women and the family units they are part of, and that her role as a midwife is to walk with and safely guide women and their families in the midst of this transition.

Shirley and her partner have two children born with the assistance of midwives.  As a family they enjoy gardening and preserving Ontario produce, outdoor activities and travel.  She looks forward to the privilege of being part of your journey.
