Dr. Lederman has been a practicing chiropractor for the past 14 years and is very excited to be offering care the offices of the Blue Heron Midwives.
Dr. Lederman’s passion is Women’s Health and Pediatrics and her mission is to educate families, globally, so that they can choose to make Chiropractic a part of their overall health and wellness lifestyle. Also, Dr. Lederman advocates for women and children to have access to chiropractic care the world over. To this end, Dr. Lederman speaks, both locally and internationally, on women’s and children’s health and the benefits of regular chiropractic care.
In practice, Dr. Lederman offers a variety of chiropractic techniques which are safe for the most infant to elderly of spines. Techniques include Diversified manual adjustments, Thompson technique and Torque Release Techniques. Additionally, to support the chiropractic adjustments, Dr. Lederman offers nutritional counseling, cranial sacral therapy, chiropractic acupuncture, and specific core exercises.
Dr. Lederman is a proud Canadian native who is very happy to have returned to the “Great White North” after a wonderful adventure in Dallas, TX. She grew up in the Toronto and received her Bachelor of Kinesiology from McMaster University, Hamilton. She then went on to complete her Doctorate of Chiropractic at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. She then had the wonderful opportunity to practice, as a locum doctor, all over Ontario prior to moving to Dallas, Texas for the next 11 years. While in Texas, Dr. Lederman joined the faculty at the prestigious Parker University, College of Chiropractic as a full time professor. There she had the honour of teaching Ob/Gyn, Pediatrics, Patient Management and Advanced Chiropractic Technique to our future generations of chiropractors. She also maintained a private practice focusing on the health and wellness of women and children (although husbands were cared for too!!)
Dr. Lederman has received numerous awards including Faculty of the year at Parker University, 2012 and Woman Chiropractor of the year, 2009.
She is a member of the International Chiropractic Association, International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and is certified in Pre- natal Chiropractic Techniques, the Webster Technique and Pediatric Chiropractic techniques (through the ICPA) and as a Doula. Dr. Lederman holds further certifications in Thompson technique, nutritional courses, craniosacral therapy, and chiropractic acupuncture.
Dr. Lederman and her husband are proud to call Waterloo their home. They are happy to have joined the amazing community of KW with their four little Texans. In addition to being passionate about her own family, Dr. Lederman is an avid supporter of natural birthing and breastfeeding, parenting, and natural healing. In her personal time, Dr. Lederman loves the outdoors (especially the winter) cooking, reading, sewing and knitting. She is currently working to become a certified lactation consultant and aspires to master the art of yoga.
