At the University of Waterloo’s Infant & Child Studies Group, we are interested in studying language and cognitive development in infants and children. Some of our research questions include:
-When and how do infants and young children learn what words are supposed to sound like, and what happens when a word sounds different than what they expect?
-How do infants and children use aspects of the environment and what they know about people to understand what is being said in different situations?
-How do babies and children use what they have experienced so far to make predictions about what will happen next?
