Connecting Pregnancy is being offered virtually during the pandemic.
The Connecting Pregnancy Group consists of 8 pre-booked two-hour sessions facilitated by midwives. The group will start when you are around 17 to 20 weeks pregnant with other women who are due around the same time. Sessions include a private check-up for you and your baby, group discussions and an opportunity to connect with other pregnant women. If you are part of the program you can read up on all of the resource materials before each session.
Group session topics include:
- Nutrition
- Exercise
- Relaxation and comfort measures for labour
- The birthing process
- Hospital vs. Home birth
- Pain management options
- Breastfeeding and infant care
Sessions are held once a month until you are 28 weeks and then every two weeks until you are 36 weeks. From 36-40 weeks you will be seen weekly, alternating between group one week and a private appointment the next week. Partners and children are welcome to attend.
Here is some feedback we’ve received from past clients:
- “The group care program provided me with the opportunity to get know other women in the community.”
- “It was reassuring to know others shared the same concerns and had similar questions.”
- “Group care really opens the door to a comfortable, family atmosphere in a midwifery practice.”
