When Coming to our Clinic
Please Arrive On Time for Appointments
Your time is important to us. We try to minimize the time for our client of being in the waiting room before appointments. We also want to maximize your time in each appointment to review results with you, have discussions, answer questions, and do needed assessments. Arriving late for your appointment may reduce your time for these things, and may make the next client wait unnecessarily. If you are running behind on your appointment day, please contact our Administrators for assistance. We apologize if you experience some minor delays and hope this occurrence is not too lengthy and not common for you.
Covid-19 and Influenza Season Precautions
Throughout the Pandemic we have worked to have our policies align with the hospitals policies. Grand River Hospital has changed their masking policy effective Monday, June 5, 2023, so that masks are no longer mandatory when providing direct patient care. However, please be aware that recommendations may change during influenza seasons or if the Covid-19 numbers increase in the Region. In such cases, care providers, visitors, and in some circumstances adult patients may be requested to wear a mask. Should these circumstances arise, know that masking requests are in the best interest of vulnerable populations including pregnant client and newborns. If the hospital requires masking during care provision, your midwife team member will be masked when providing care to you. At any time if you prefer that your midwife wear a mask during your community, hospital, or clinic visits, please let us know and we will be happy to do so.
If You Are Feeling Unwell On or Before Your Appointment Day
If you have any combination of the following symptoms:
• Fever and/or chills
• Cough
• Shortness of breath (not pregnancy-related)
• Decrease or loss of taste or smell
• Muscle aches or joint pain
